European Project promoting an AI-assisted Italian Language Teaching and Learning System
Second Transnational Meeting
The second partners' meeting of the DAI project took place in Frankfurt (DE) on 2 - 3 March 2026. Goethe University of Frankfurt organized and coordinated the second meeting of the European project entitled DAI – Developing an AI-assisted Italian Language Teaching and Learning System supported by Pixel and University of Perugia. The project has been written and coordinated by the project applicant University of Frankfurt (Germany) in cooperation with Pixel. The project was funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Cooperation partnerships in Higher Education. The DAI project has the aim to improve Italian as a foreign language instruction through the integration of AI. This project integrates AI to create personalized learning paths, shifting the focus to fostering critical thinking and evaluative skills. It addresses the need for digital competencies among teachers and policymakers by providing training and will create a learner corpus to support further research on AI in language education. All partners (in person or online) participated in the meeting. The main discussed topics were: presentation of the contents for the teachers' online course; peer review of the contents for the teachers' online course; definition of the criteria to produce the video for the course and of the next activities.
