Description
The School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) is a higher education and research institution based in Lisbon, Portugal. It is the largest school of Arts and Humanities in the country and has its origins in the Curso Superior de Letras, founded in 1859. Its mission is to promote teaching, research and critical reflection in the humanities, including literature, languages, linguistics, history, philosophy, arts and cultures. The University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies (ULICES/CEAUL) is a research centre based at the School (FLUL). It brings together researchers working across literature, culture, linguistics, translation, reception studies, inter-art studies, civic and Holocaust education.
